4 Ways to Boost Your Immune System
By Dr. Peter Klapper Ph.D.

As the autumn leaves begin to fall and the temperatures start to drop, most of us are gearing up for the long awaited “sweater weather” that comes with warm meals and pumpkin everything. However, cooler temperatures also mean that runny noses, sore throats, and congestion are also right around the corner. So, how can you enjoy the fall while also keeping your immune system in tip top shape? Check out our list of “4 Ways To Boost Your Immune System.”

1. Strengthen Your Immune System
At some point every year, most of us are faced with the common cold or flu. By the time you’re in the thick of it, you might find yourself taking every cold product on the shelf. However, did you know that you can support your immune system before even coming down with the cold?

By taking our Cold & Flu Maximum Strength BEFORE you become sick with a cold, you can strengthen your body’s healing process. Now, of course, this product works wonders if you are sick, but by adding a few drops to your drinking water, it will boost your immune system to help prevent cold and flu symptoms from forming.

2. Get Enough Sleep
Did you know that by getting at least 7 hours of sleep at night can strengthen your natural immunity? In recent studies, short sleep duration and poor sleep continuity have been connected to illness, which means a restful night sleep is imperative if you want to boost your immune system and keep the flu at bay.

If you have a hard time falling asleep at night, consider our natural sleep aid, “Sleep Well.” By rolling-on our sleep aid before bedtime, you will experience a deep and restful sleep. Not only will you wake up feeling refreshed but after getting a good night’s rest, you will also be boosting your immune system.

3. Stay Hydrated
It’s no secret that staying hydrated is important to your overall health. Our immune system is highly dependent on the nutrients in our blood stream, and our blood stream is made mostly of water!

Your body relies on the water you put into it to flush out toxins and waste and to regulate all the functions in your various systems. If you’re low on fluids, you will feel it from your digestion to energy levels which all play a part in keeping your immune system boosted. So be sure to sneak in a few more sips of water each day, hydrate before physical activity and swap water for soda at meals. Quench your thirst this fall to boost your immune system!

4. Manage Your Stress
Have you ever noticed that when you’re dealing with a lot of stress is when you seem to get sick? Well, that’s because the stress hormone corticosteroid can suppress the effectiveness of the immune system making it easier for you to catch a nasty bug. So, how can you manage the stress you are carrying on your shoulders?

Be sure to make some time for yourself by either reading a book, getting a massage, meditation, exercising or taking a hot bath. If that still doesn’t help the stress melt off, try our Calm Mood relief oil that helps to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, worry, nervous tension, irritability, and any overwhelming feelings of everyday life without drowsy or sluggish side effects. By getting your stress under control, you can prevent your body from suppressing your immune system, plus you may even feel a boost in your mood, too!
